Lock your door. Don’t take chances. Beloved, don’t allow the enemy to penetrate the four walls of your dwelling. When you shut a door in your life, lock it and forget it.
The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence. – Proverbs 14:16 NLT
Guard your home. Sometimes you have to pray to God to save you from His followers because it’s not everybody that says “Praise God Halleluiah” that loves you and not everybody who eats with you is a friend.
Watch out for friendly foes – friends who aren’t really friends but just there to hear what you have to say and go about gossiping about you and wishing you evil. It doesn’t mean you should be paranoid but just be careful.
Keep quiet. Who have you been feeding information lately about everything happening in your life and home? May it not be said of you that you used your own hands and words to destroy your family. Proverbs 14:1 AMP says, “Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands” and “Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut” (Proverbs 10:19 NLT).
Be vigilant and cautious. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Sometimes He tells us not to get close to a certain person or people but we do not take heed. Then, a few days, months or even years go by and we have ‘Aha moments’ and we say, “Now I know why my spirit didn’t click with that guy or lady.”
Beloved, if you feel like opening that door that has been shut and locked, remember you have a friend in Jesus. He sticks closer than a brother. Stay connected to Him.
