At first this seems like a harsh statement but from the bottom of my heart it’s not meant to be. It is a liberating statement.
A New Year sometimes requires you to let go of some people. Some people can’t go with you into the New Year and that’s alright.
Some people are brick and some are scaffolding. They are not bad or evil people, it just means the season is over.
You have heard the statement: “Go where you are celebrated and not where you are tolerated.” Do the people you hang around CELEBRATE you (and your gifts) or do they TOLERATE you?
If they celebrate you, you will know because they lovingly receive you, but if the are just tolerating you, you will know because they never seem to appreciate your presence, get excited about what God is doing in you or want to see you excel!
There is no sense in being in a place where people do not like you, believe in you, want you or your gift. You can’t have my gift but disrespect me.
God has made you uniquely special and fashioned you in a way that causes you to be a blessing to people but you cannot force people to love or accept you.
However, you can change your circle of friends so that those who are around you realize your potential, appreciate how much of a blessing you are and gladly receive you by celebrating your presence.
THIS. MY GOD.
Praise God. He is awesome.
