How To Know God’s Will For Your Life

Decision Making · March 29, 2013

To know the will of God can be challenging. However, God’s Word says that if you let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind, then you will be able to know the will of God.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. – Romans 12:2 NLT

How do you know God’s will for your life?
You have to live for Him. Surrender to God and tell Him to guide you and direct your path. He speaks to us in different ways.

Sometimes we hear a still small voice (1 Kings 19:11-13) which the world calls ‘instinct, intuition, sixth sense’ (which believers with a personal relationship with the Lord call the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, Counselor) saying: “Don’t do it…Don’t go there tomorrow… Don’t be their business partner…Don’t marry her…Don’t marry him….Stay in the job for a little while longer, something good is coming…Don’t travel tomorrow…Don’t trust that person…Wait, this is not the job for you…The season is over, take the next step…”

In many cases, the flesh takes over and we don’t listen.

Beloved, the will of God is good, pleasing and perfect. “The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22 NLT).
