“..because you have gone through with this..I’ll make sure that your children flourish” (Genesis 22:17 MSG).
Sometimes your faith or obedience will be tested.
You embark on a journey or carry out an assignment even though you don’t know where you are going. You launch a project even though you don’t know where the finances will come from.
All you know is that God told you to do it and because you have not activated the assignment, you have had no peace.
In some situations, the assignment will even be against everything you term “normal” but you proceed anyway.
Abraham had an unusual task to carry out. God tested Abraham’s faith (Genesis 22:2-7) but did not let him harm the seed He gave him. He provided a ram in the bushes. He is indeed Jehovah Jireh! He sees the heart.
“Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants[a] beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”
Genesis 22:17-18
Even though you don’t understand the purpose of the assignment, obey God anyway. There is a blessing in obedience. God’s got you!
