Will there be provision in the wilderness? Will the Lord really provide?
After the children of Israel successfully and miraculously crossed the Red Sea, they faced another dilemma (lack of food) in the Wilderness of Sin and grumbled. They were not happy and complained about Moses and Aaron. This was on day 15 of the second month after leaving bondage in Egypt.
“If only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt,” they moaned.” – Exodus 16
Isn’t it like us to grumble when things are not going the way we expect despite the powerful victory the Lord has given us? If God can part the waters of the Red Sea that is about 1,400 miles long and 221 miles wide so that his beloved children can escape the enemy, is it food that he cannot provide?
Notwithstanding their behavior, God in His infinite mercies still supplied. Provision came in the wilderness. Manna came for them to eat.
What’s going on in your life? Trust in the Lord. Even if it seems like nothing is happening, he is working it out. He will come through for you. He will provide in the wilderness; in your dry season. Be expectant. Help is on the way.
You won’t see wind nor rain, but this valley will be filled with water, and you will have plenty for yourselves and for your animals! – 2 Kings 3:17
Believe God and hold on to His word.
The person who trusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. – Jeremiah 17:7
